JOHNS CREEK, GA – Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra is ready to unleash the holiday spirit to the Johns Creek community with two standout seasonal concerts that the whole family can enjoy. “A Kids’ Christmas” and “Christmas Pops” will be held on December 16 at Johns Creek United Methodist Church, 11180 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA. “A Kids’ Christmas” will begin at 2:30 p.m. and “Christmas Pops” will begin at 7:30 p.m.
“A Kids’ Christmas” Concert Details
A sensory-friendly Christmas concert that invites families to sing, dance, and celebrate the holiday season. This concert is suitable for children and adults with special needs and will include a guest appearance from Santa Claus. “Christmas Pops” Concert Details
A classic Christmas concert featuring the Johns Creek Chorale and comedic songstress Nancy Gaddy. Enjoy the most beloved songs of the season as well as some heartfelt holiday humor! “I believe ‘A Kids’ Christmas’ and ‘Christmas Pops’ have become well-loved traditions in the Johns Creek community, and we are looking forward to bringing the holiday spirit to the city,” said Linda Brill, Executive Director of the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra.
“A Kids’ Christmas”:
“A Kids’ Christmas” is a family-friendly holiday concert where dancing, singalongs, and reindeer magic bring people of all abilities together to celebrate the holiday season. Featuring famous holiday tunes like “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “Sleigh Ride,” and more, this concert invites children to dance and sing to the sounds of the season. The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra professional musicians will also be joined by Santa Claus, so children are encouraged to say hi to Santa and secure a spot on the nice list!
This is also a sensory-friendly concert that is suitable for young children as well as children with Autism, individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and other individuals with special needs. The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra has designed this concert to be adaptable for the audience member, and the orchestra invites families to bring headphones and other sensory items that may help the concert be more enjoyable for sensitive individuals. This concert is supported by the Transamerica Foundation.
“Christmas Pops”:
This year, comedic songstress Nancy Gaddy will leave audiences “laughing all the way,” bringing her gift of comedy in addition to performances of seasonal favorites like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The Johns Creek Chorale will add their beautiful vocal stylings to holiday arrangements, including “Hallelujah” from Handel’s Messiah. This Christmas concert will offer something for everyone. In humor and in harmony, “Christmas Pops” will spread the holiday cheer to all.
About Nancy Gaddy:
Nancy Gaddy has had an adventurous and eclectic career as a performing artist. As an actress, she has appeared in the National Touring Company of The Rocky Horror Show in addition to regional theatre and touring productions of As You Like It, Big Mother, Buried Child, Hair, Henry Vi/Part I, Oh Calcutta!, Out Of This Furnace, Side By Side By Sondheim, Social Security, and The King And I.
Nancy is a trained actress and singer – she attended Indiana University and received a BFA in Theatre from Southern Methodist University, and an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. She has been an artist in residence at the Smithsonian and performed a series of original theatre pieces in repertory that she co-wrote and produced at the Edinburgh International Theatre Festival in Scotland.
She has appeared in numerous films and episodic television shows including The Deer Hunter, Replicant, Dawn Of The Dead, and Blade Runner, has been on-air talent for several PBS radio and television programs, plus numerous commercial spots.

The Johns Creek Chorale has been guided by the vision of its creator, Dr. Nathan Frank, and performed its inaugural concert on November 8, 2015. A dream of many in the community of Johns Creek, Georgia, this new choral ensemble satisfies the growing need for high-level choral musicianship. The chorale brings together approximately 70 men and women from diverse backgrounds to Johns Creek Chorale experience the joy of singing and to continue a life-long love for choral music.
